reality leaves a lot to the imagination
Nostalgic Trip #2
Jeeves. The butler of search engines. One of the most brilliant and virtual minds I ever had the privilege to seek knowledge from.
This guy knew everything. I remember I would ask him tons of stuff back when I was in elementary school (it really was the most prominent search engine for children). Whenever you had a question that you didn’t know the answer to, all you had to do was go, “Yo Jeeves, homeslice, what’s the numerical value of pi?” And Jeeves would be all, “[WHUPOW!] The value of pi to 5 decimal places is 3.14159.”
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Ask Jeeves might have even existed before Google. All I remember is using it a crap load back in the day to ask him trivial questions. The website was complete crap back then though. Sure it had a search engine and all, but I distinctly remember the site was littered with ads everywhere.
I recently tried looking up good old Jeeves, only to discover that the site has now been rebranded as Ask.com. What a shame. However, it seems as if Jeeves has managed to maintain his virtual butler duties over at the UK version of the website. How exciting. He now lives a more lavish lifestyle after going through some cosmetic processes which have given him a well-rounded, three-dimensional figure. He apparently also owns his own wardrobe now too, so he does not have to wear the same set of clothes all the time. Good for him.
