“Pain or damage don’t end the world, or despair, or fuckin’ beatings. The world ends when you’re dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man — and give some back.”—Al Swearengen (Ian McShane), “Deadwood”
It feels nice to finally get a break. These past two weeks have been physically exhausting. I had to start a mandatory 2-week summer course in early May, which ran Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 5pm each day. In hindsight, it really wasn’t that bad I guess. I found that I really enjoyed all the field activities we had to do but the biggest problem was the fact that I was only getting around 4 or 5 hours of sleep each night. The whole experience was just physically tolling. The sad thing was that there was nothing I could do about it, what with the hour-long commutes, the reports that I had to type up at the end of each day, and the quizzes that had to be studied for the next day. But other than that, the experience was pretty fun though. I got to use some tools that I’ve never had any experienced with before, learned some new things, spent times with friends and classmates. I hope the six hours put into studying for the final exam works itself out in the end too.
Anyways, I’m hoping now I’ll have more free time to relax. I haven’t been able to post anything on Tumblr for a while, so I’ll probably get back to that. I’m quite excited to finally get some time to catch up on my TV, read some books, and draw around like I sometimes do. Cheers.
